[2026 Shinagawa Accommodation] Recommended Tokyo Shinagawa Hotels: Near the Station with Direct Access to Haneda and Narita Airports

To be honest, Shinagawa was not originally an accommodation area I would choose when traveling independently in Tokyo. I used to prefer staying near Ueno or Ikebukuro, but later, when I once chose a direct flight from Songshan to Haneda Airport, I realized that staying in Shinagawa was really convenient. Not only can you go directly to both Haneda Airport and Narita Airport, but it is also very convenient if you want to take the Shinkansen to nearby areas around Tokyo. For getting around the city, you can choose from the JR Yamanote Line, Keikyu Line, and Tokaido Main Line. Famous hotels such as Shinagawa Prince Hotel and Miyako City Tokyo Takanawa are all in this area. If you want something more affordable, there are also business hotels to choose from. This article recommends several Shinagawa accommodations that have been mentioned and recommended online on PTT and Dcard for your reference.

Shinagawa Prince Hotel

This time, I want to share with you a Tokyo Shinagawa accommodation with unbelievably convenient transportation: the very well-known “Shinagawa Prince Hotel.” Shinagawa Prince Hotel is only a 2-minute walk from JR Shinagawa Station. After exiting the station, you simply cross the road and arrive at the hotel entrance. Taking the Keikyu Line to and from Haneda Airport is also extremely fast and convenient. The hotel itself is huge, and there are so many facilities inside that you may not even finish exploring them, including the popular Shinagawa Aquarium, a bowling alley, a movie theater, and more than 10 restaurants to choose from.

As for the rooms, although the facilities at Shinagawa Prince Hotel are slightly older, the overall quality, service, and location remain at a very good standard. The room space can easily fit two large suitcases. Breakfast is also one of the major highlights of this Shinagawa accommodation, with a rich and delicious selection. Whether you prefer Japanese, Western, or Chinese cuisine, there are restaurants available, making the meal very satisfying. The price is also friendly. During the low season, double rooms are available for around NT$4,300, allowing you to stay in a five-star hotel in central Tokyo at very good value.

Miyako City Tokyo Takanawa

Miyako City Tokyo Takanawa is a Tokyo Shinagawa accommodation that opened in 2019, offering a fresh and stylish stay with a full sense of quality. It is only 400 meters from Takanawa Gateway Station, and it takes about 8 to 10 minutes to walk to JR Shinagawa Station and Sengakuji Station, making the transportation quite convenient. The room design features a modern and soft style, with comfortable color combinations that are not harsh on the eyes. The overall atmosphere makes you feel relaxed as soon as you enter the room. All mattresses in the hotel are original models jointly developed with the well-known brand Simmons. The bathrooms use a separate wet and dry layout, and some room types also have large bathtubs. After a full day of sightseeing, coming back for a bath feels extremely healing. From some room windows, you may even get a chance to see Rainbow Bridge and the night view of Tokyo Bay.

In terms of facilities, the hotel provides coin-operated washing machines, and baby cribs are also available for borrowing. Children in elementary school and below can stay for free, making it very good value for families traveling with children.

Shinagawa Tobu Hotel

Shinagawa Tobu Hotel is a Shinagawa accommodation located about a 7-minute walk from JR Shinagawa Station, and it takes only about 3 minutes to walk to the popular Shinagawa Aquarium. Although there is a short uphill section on the way to the hotel, which may make the walk slightly tiring, it is still quite convenient overall. By Japanese hotel standards, Tokyo Shinagawa Tobu Hotel offers relatively spacious rooms. The design uses soft and refined color tones, and the room types are quite complete, ranging from single rooms, double rooms, and twin rooms to rooms suitable for four people. Every room type is equipped with a bathtub.

Breakfast is also one of the major highlights of this Shinagawa accommodation. The buffet breakfast uses fresh local vegetables for salads and also offers freshly baked bread, Japanese grilled fish, and a variety of Chinese, Japanese, and Western dishes. The lounge on the second floor provides free-flow coffee and tea. If you love coffee, you can have a cup before heading out in the morning.

APA Hotel Shinagawa Sengakuji Ekimae

APA Hotel Shinagawa Sengakuji Ekimae is a Tokyo Shinagawa accommodation that is affordable and highly functional. It is only a 1-minute walk from Sengakuji Subway Station and just 4 minutes from Takanawa Gateway Station, so even if your luggage is heavy, you do not need to worry about walking too far. The surrounding facilities are also very complete, with a large supermarket and convenience stores nearby. If you want to buy late-night snacks or daily necessities at midnight, it is very easy. Although the rooms are on the smaller side and are typical Japanese business hotel rooms, all the necessary facilities are provided, including a TV and desk. Whether for travel or business trips, the rooms are very practical and easy to use.

However, the main reason I recommend this Shinagawa accommodation is the large public bath “Genyo no Yu” on the 21st floor, which comes with an open-air bath and can be used completely free of charge. Breakfast is also very good. The restaurant “La Veranda” offers a buffet with as many as 60 Japanese and Western dishes, giving plenty of choices and a very satisfying meal. The breakfast quality is not inferior to that of mid- to high-priced hotels.

Tokyu Stay Takanawa

If you are planning a longer trip in Tokyo, and personally I think anything over 7 days counts as a long stay, you can consider “Tokyu Stay Takanawa.” This Shinagawa accommodation is only a 1-minute walk from Sengakuji Station and about 4 to 5 minutes from Takanawa Gateway Station. The hotel opened in 2018, so the facilities are still quite new. The biggest highlight that makes me recommend Tokyu Stay Takanawa is that the rooms are equipped with washer-dryer combo machines, making it especially suitable for travelers who want to pack light. The room space is planned very spaciously. In addition to basic desks and sofas that are convenient for work, some room types also come with a mini kitchen. Microwaves, cooking pots, and tableware sets are all provided, so making instant noodles or heating up food is no problem at all. Staying here for a longer period really gives you a comfortable sense of daily life.

Breakfast is also not to be missed. The first-floor “BUMBLEBEE CAFE” offers Japanese and Western buffet breakfast. The signature ochazuke is especially recommended. It is simple but memorable. The surrounding daily facilities are also complete. Once you exit the station, you are in the Gotanda Station area, making it very convenient to buy things or find food, so there is no need to worry about not having places to eat.

Mitsui Garden Hotel Gotanda

Mitsui Garden Hotel Gotanda Tokyo is only a 3-minute walk from the East Exit of JR Gotanda Station. JR lines, the Toei Asakusa Line, and Tokyu lines are all nearby, making it smooth and convenient to get to any attraction. In addition, the hotel is directly connected to a department store building, and there are also LIFE supermarket, drugstores, and various restaurants nearby. The daily convenience is so good that you do not need to go far for anything, which is one of the reasons I especially like this Shinagawa accommodation.

Mitsui Garden Hotel Gotanda Tokyo in Shinagawa opened in 2018, with new and complete facilities. The rooms at this Shinagawa accommodation are quite spacious, and opening two large suitcases is no problem at all. The amenity area in the lobby is self-service, making it easy to take whatever you need. What impressed me the most is that the lobby on the 15th floor uses large floor-to-ceiling windows, and the elevated view is very soothing. Welcome drinks are also provided, and the rooms thoughtfully prepare daily bottled water, coffee and tea bags, and comfortable sleepwear. The details are very well done.

However, the most recommended feature of this Shinagawa accommodation is definitely the indoor and outdoor large public bath on the 16th floor, as well as the rooftop open-air bath. After a full day of sightseeing, soaking in a warm bath while overlooking the night view of Gotanda instantly heals all your fatigue. The hotel also has coin-operated washing machines and microwaves, making it convenient for both short and long trips.
